
Ron was a true farmer who enjoyed caring for the land alongside his “best hired man he ever had, his wife Joanne!” Together they loved the life farming provided to their family. Upon his discharge the couple returned to the Lenox area and farmed with Joanne’s father in the Stringtown and Kent areas. The couple lived in Norfolk, Va., until Ron was discharged from the United States Navy on Jan. Two children were born to bless this union, Jon and Joni. 17, 1954, at the Corning Christian Church. During this time he was united in marriage to Joanne Craft on Jan. 8, 1951, Ron entered the United States Navy serving on the USS Tanner AGS 15 for three years. He grew up attending school graduating from the Corning High School. 25, 1930, in Decatur County, Iowa, the son of Willard Piercy and Ruth (Miller) Piercy.
